My older sister is observant. Having a dog and what I need for trips to and from the city don’t mesh well together (my cooler barely fits in the trunk). If I could only track down a manual Alltrack, with VW’s current financing rate, I don’t think I’d miss it much more than the Subaru. $200 a month difference with what I can put down right now, and this would be enough car for me, I think.

You need a solid bottom on that crate . That husky is gonna literally dig through the crate and destroy the floor. My coworker has a husky mix pupper and the damage is legendary.

It’ll get better. I think we turned our biggest corner when I ditched the crate entirely. Sure, I still lose rolls of paper towels and my wife's occasional misplaced makeup items, but she's not couped up all day and miserable and scared. Our crate training was a disaster largely because this is my first dog and I have no idea what I'm doing. In my defense, she's a high-energy, reactive dog that still needs lots of whatever I gave up.

I totally get it. She’s also a reserve dog, so crates are not something she likes. I picked up a clock radio for her to listen to. She had no problems last night with me sleeping beside her, she just doesn’t like being alone.

Seems like a good option for you. It’s a MANUAL wagon. Yes haldex is inferior to Subaru’s symmetrical AWD, but considering how well you've done with a FiST, you'll do fine. Plus still 60+ cubic feet of cargo with the seats down, 30 with the seats up. There are crossovers that don't even touch this numbers.

Huskies and separation anxiety is no joke. When I first brought Sasha home, she would just sit at the door (or in her crate) and howl every time I left, and more or less continue to do so until I got home. At the time, I was working 12 hour shifts, and my roommate was...unhappy about it.

This is rush he is a good boy unless he gets separated from us and gets worried. Then he howels like he’s going to die and chews everything in his grasp, and he’s really tall.
